The Pines lakeside forest retreat is located in Xinshe, Taichung. With lakeside accommodation, views of the bald cypress trees, handmade breakfasts, afternoon tea, and comfortable spaces to rest, we invite travellers to slow down and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.
Our defining feature is the lake and bald cypress forest that surround us. Each season brings a different scene, whether at dawn, sunset, or in the rain, the forest offers a restorative atmosphere.
The Pines minimalist green architecture blends into the forest. It is a place for couples, families, and friends to travel and relax, as well as a romantic setting for an outdoor wedding.

The Pines is a well-known destination in Xinshe, close to central Taichung. With convenient access, to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Fengjia shopping districts are about half an hour away, making it a base for exploring both Xinshe’s mountain area and Taichung city.

This is how the story of The Pines began…

Where conventional development cuts down trees before building, my idea was to plant trees first and build afterwards. The Pines was developed to bring elegance to nature and create a forest ecosystem. Many people search for beautiful places, we can proudly say that we have made a place beautiful.
The architecture of The Pines uses natural, environmentally conscious materials, a considered aesthetic, and simple spatial design to express my vision of contemporary Taiwanese architecture, integrated into the bald cypress forest.

We hope The Pines encourages people to relax and enjoy nature in this beautiful setting…

One traveller told me that, before visiting, he had been deeply skeptical about our room prices: “It is only a B&B.” Only after experiencing it did he understand that the care invested in The Pines and its surroundings far exceeded his expectations. He felt that supporting this idea through his stay was worthwhile. In his view, it was in no way inferior to "The Lalu", each had its own character and atmosphere. When he shook my hand and thanked me, I realized that two strangers shared the same feeling.
